This post came from somewhere deep. It’s quite personal but I’m trusting that it will reach the eyes and ears of those that need it. I’ve been sharing some insights and beliefs about one of my favourite things; my chakra meditation and how the program, School of the Modern Mystic has changed my life. With the doors to the program now open, the last few posts have emerged to help empower and inspire you to take the leap, join the program if you do feel called to! I did the program two years ago and continue to reap the benefits in my everyday life. Benefits like; a consistent meditation practice (which was on my wish list every year for the past 10 years), wonderful connections with other women who support me everyday and an unwavering belief in myself and in the universe – we’re a team! Here are six important lessons I’ve learnt since the beginning of my journey, from my heart to yours…
- Your souls purpose is not what you do; it’s who you are.
This is a huge belief and passion of mine. For so long the strive has been “What’s my purpose in the world!?” I’m yet to find the answer, but I now question, “who am I?” Because I believe the answer to the first question will be found with the answer to the second. Our purpose is to figure out who we are! This is something that is also in a constant state of change, which makes me believe our purpose changes and evolves as we do! All you have to do is express your truest self. Easy right!? As a matter of fact, I wrote a whole post about this >>>>>>>>>> here.
- You’ll always find 30 minutes a day to yourself if you make it a priority.
This one is not an easy thing for me to say, because I’ve been there with all the excuses! I’ve managed to go for months without meditating because well, 1. I’m human and 2. Procrastination. Why is it we always put off the one thing we actually need? It wasn’t until I began to really notice the tangible benefits (another one of my habits, I need results) that I really made meditation a priority and then, it was easy! Where once it felt like I had no extra time, all of a sudden, without changing anything, it felt like I had so much time! Funny that!
- There’s always more to learn so stay curious.
We’re in a constant state of change and learning. Especially in the world we currently live in, there’s information coming at us from every angle! Because I’m a curious being, this excites me but I’m also very aware of how it can quickly lead to overwhelm. One thing I’ve noticed since working with my chakras, is that the information I actually need, comes to me at the right time and I know it’s not consistence.
- You’re never alone. Universal powers are on your side, rooting for you.
This one gave me so much hope and it’s something I’ll forever be grateful for. Over these past few years, I noticed that I constantly made ‘deals’ and ‘wages’ with myself. For example, “Yep, you can buy that dress and the money you spent here you can save by not buying a coffee for the rest of the month.” Crazy right! That’s a really basic example but I had been doing it for so long, I didn’t even notice when I was doing it and I rarely followed through! Who goes a whole month without buying coffee!? I mean, what was I thinking! The scary thing was, I used to wager with the universe too, believing that if something great happened, I had to “pay for it” by doing something else. I was in a constant state of believing that karma wasn’t on my side, which was crazy because I was (I am) a really good person. (Yep, I was the ‘goodie’ at school,) Scared to get in trouble and I think it steamed from the belief that I had to work for everything I had. The belief that the universe has my back and that it always roots for you was something I really struggled to trust and it took a whole lot of work to break down the barriers I’d placed around it. Still a work in progress but my chakra meditation and the SOMM really, really helped.
- When you listen and follow your intuition magic happens.
When I finally learnt how to get out of my own way, magic seemed to follow me around. Or… Perhaps it was always there, I just became acutely aware of it. Yep, that’s the truth. My truth.
- You don’t need to know the how and the why (something really hard for me to put aside); you just have to trust the process.
Meditate and cleanse your chakras and trust that it’s all happening for you not to you. This was another lesson I had to remind myself over and over again. Thankfully, the relief I felt after hearing Belinda Davison – founder of the School of the Modern Mystic say, ‘you don’t need to know how to heal yourself, just cleanse and clean your chakras and they’ll do the work for you.’ It seemed crazy (at the time) to trust this because it wasn’t in my nature (the old me) to ‘just believe’ but there was something in me that did trust. No explanation here, I just did! And thank goodness! There’s no magic pill, nothing you need to “fix,” when I mention ‘healing yourself,’ it’s not because you’re broken or not worthy. It simply relates to the health of you showing up in the world as your best self. When you feel a deep connection to who you really are, the hows and whys actually don’t matter!
If you’re wondering what the School of the Modern Mystic is – check it out here! The doors are now open and because it’s a six-month journey, Belinda only runs it once a year. With the intention to be authentic and honest (like always) I want you to know that this is an affiliate link and I may receive a small commission if you choose to join. But what I really want you to know is, that I do not share this story, my journey with you lightly. I believe in this work and I truly know the difference it can make. This is the only course I’ve felt comfortable sharing and becoming an affiliate for.
If you have any questions about the course, I’m so happy to answer them for you. Just shoot me an email using the form below and I’ll do the best I can to help. You may also enjoy jumping over to my Facebook page and checking out my chakra week videos!
